I have a 1700 Gal pop up pool and have been using the store method with success...I Think.

I am using bleach to shock and bring up the chlorine level as needed and a mini floatie with a puck cut in half.

I add algaecide (1tsp) & Borax(2cup) 1x week

I have not added any baking soda. Is this why my CYA is reading low??

Should i be using the puck? or just stick with bleach daily?

CYA is cyanuric acid, which is also known as stabilizer. You'd have to buy it at a pool store, or some Walmarts etc.. Baking soda raises alkalinity.

And Borax does what?

And Borax does what?Raises pH.

You'll find the answers to most of these things by reading the stickies posted at the top of each forum.

Borax raises your pH. Baking soda will raise your alkalinity.

Also, I would say if you are keeping your chlorine level where it should be I would not use the algaecide. If you have to use one, then make sure it's polyquat - which is 60% dimethyl ethyl yada yada, otherwise you could end up with foaming.

Post all of your numbers and we can help better.
What is your CYA level? Based on that measurment will determine whether you can still use your pucks (trichlor) which contain CYA (stabilizer)
