I'm pretty certain I want a SWG and I've been set on the Pool Pilot Digital. Then I caught wind of the the Total Control system. I've read everything I can find online about the Total Control (including the threads in this forum). I like it but I'm not sure it's worth the extra money yet.

A question I don't have clear answer to is can I start with the Pool Pilot Digital and upgrade it later to a Total Control System?

I am certain you can, and hopefully Poolsean will confirm this. I only have the Pool Pilot Digital and am quite happy with it.

If I am not mistaken the Total Control uses the Digital as the SWG control and has an addtional control box for the ORP and pH electrodes and acid pump. Don't hold me to this. Sean is the expert. My info comes from the Horner Express catalog, which is part of TeamHorner who manufactur the PoolPilot.

Sorry. The Digital that is used with the Total Control system is different from the current DIG-220 digital unit.
We are only sending out the specific #75003 Digital when ordered as part of the Total Control system, which also includes: 75001 (pool chemistry controller); 7500(4, 5, 6, or 7) acid pump and tank kit, depending on voltage of the pump and hertz of the country; 75008, optional relay kit for use when the Digital is being used to control the main circulation pump; and the manifold assembly.
This will not retrofit any previously installed Digital units. However, I am working on putting together an upgrade program but nothing is concrete yet.

Sean,
Thanks for the clarification on that! Good info to have. HornerExpress price sheet does not make that very clear.

I'd be very interested in finding out when and if an upgrade program becomes available.
Thanks Sean.
