Ok I am new here but I think what I have read so far is awesome. My pool has been clear for 3 days this summer. These rest of the summer I have been fighting green stuff. I have spent over $500 this summer on chemicals at pool store and nothing they say do works. I just tested the water and am going to list my readings could someone please tell me where to start.

It is a 16 x 32 inground vinyl liner pool. It is 3 ft to 8 ft. My calculations of water is about 22000 gallons. I noticed on the pool store info it is listed as 28000. Can someone verify the volume. Thanks in advance my kids will appreciate it too.

If it is a standard rectangular 16 x 32, then the volume comes out to 21,120 gallons.

that is what I came up with but wanted a second on it. Do I add the bleach through the skimmer or into the pool?

You can do either - pour slowly into the skimmer or pour slowly in front of the return jets. I wouldn't suggest pouring it into any part of the pool that gets less than adequate circulation.

About how long can I expect a green pool to take to get clear using the BBB method??

Keep the chlorine levels at 15ppm - 20ppm until the pool totally clears. When the algae dies you will have a blue cloudy pool - keep the chlorine high until it is no longer cloudy. Run pump 24/7 and backwash (or clean cartridge) frequently. If you test 3X a day and raise the chlorine level and don't let it yo-yo too much it will kill it quicker.

How long will depend on a consistant high chlorine level and how much stuff it has to kill in your pool - might be one day might be 4 days or longer.
