Hey everyone, I am hoping someone has experience in this department.

We are building a gunite pool, and had the darndest time picking a tile for the waterline. We didn't want anything green or blue, with dolphins or fish, we wanted a specialty tile alternating with regular 6x6 tiles. We found and LOVED the DalTile Metal Signatures. Of course they SAY they aren't suitable for pools, but at the recent Pool Show in Orlando the DalTile guy told us that the company had been on the fence about that statement, siting they aren't sure how long it will hold up.

So, after reading this forum, I am concerned about the "metal" aspect of the tile, not just the tile finish. Will it affect my water quality? After reading the section on metals, it got me thinking.

Thanks for any suggestions.

what type of metal is the tile made of? pool water can be reactive with variousl types of metals and that can lead to staining in your pool.

I asked DalTile that question, and this was their respomse:

Yes, these are made with real premium metals, special polymers, and
ceramics, I have nothing that says what type of metals they are....... Thx
