23 yrs ago my pool came wiht a Hawyward EC filter wiht a bump handle. It utilized a nest of "fingers" that the DE clung to for filtering. I loved it Now I have a Jandy that uses grids which I hate. Took them apart once to acid clean and couldn't get them all back in and broke a couple trying. I have been through two filters that utilized the grids. Leslies tells me they don't sell Hayward.Does anyone know if Hayward still makes the filters with the bump system and the fingers?

I have a 3yr old Hayward Pro-Grid Filter that does not bump. I can also say that I think the filter is a piece of cake to open, clean, close, backwash, etc. Just my two cents.

Rollinrock,
Yes, Hayward still makes the filters. I know of two models in the configuration you want, but there may be more: ec-65 and ec-75. The best price I have found so far is on ebay (<$400 for an ec-75). I have 2 of the ec-65's and love them. Hope this helps.
