View Full Version : When do you run the pump?

For many of us that live in hot areas, the UV counteracts the effectiveness of the chlorine. I've heard of some running their pump only at night, some half in the day and half at night, some just during the day. I'd like to hear some good arguments for both?

I'm leaning more towards running it 8hrs at night so the chlorine can do it's thing. It will also reduce the amount of output I need from my salt chlorinator. I don't like the idea of running half half because it'll cost more in electricity to start and stop the motor and the increase wear and tear on the equipment. I'm currently running it during the day and is about to make the change.

thanks in advance for your comments.
