I have been a CPO for 1 Month I have run a pool for 1 Month... I worked building Above and Inground pools for 8 years.

The Condominium association Board members i work for selected their Pool guy "the cheapest price" He replaced the coping, boarder, Open/Closing, tile Painted the pool and "Made sure every thing was in proper working order"
56K Gals
2500Sq Surface area
1/2 indoor 1/2 out

1) Pool coping was fine.. But never reinstalled the rope anchors separating 3' from 5'
2) also never installed his "Deco seal" Calk between the coping and concrete deck
3) installed the remaining tile inside with god knows what, when it came into contact with water , immediately the tiles came up and loose,
4) tiles 2"X2" were installed not flush with rest of the tiles some are sticking up 1/4"( mind you this is a Semi Public pool ran by a management company that I work for)
5) was asked to change burnt out light (never done)
6) He TSP washed and painted the pool last fall at closing( the paint is now
peeling after being filled and opened for a month)
7) Never Taped over the Return holes when painting so threads got painted too. now returns do not seat all the way in... They Thread in about 1/2"
8) in one month time after being opened and refilled we have lost almost 40% of the Paint.*filter still loving that*
9) Removed Pool Cover and left it balled up on deck instead of putting it in the shed where it belonged.
10) Opened the pool and "Balanced" the water with a Calcium Hardness of 30 * and that was balanced to them *
11) Never adjusted the Valve on the Pool heater that shuts the pool heater off if there is no water flow. so pool heater was cooked...* heater 7 feet below bottom of Pool *
12) Installed the Wrong size cover over the heat exchange 4" to short on each side.... 8" total to small(Burnt the top of the pool heater).
13) Never installed a check valve between the pool heater and the chlorinator * not that it mattered because*
14) Installed Chlorinator before the Heater.
Control Valve to Chlorinator to return... in the middle of the return line they installed a Valve and on either side a T that ran to heater... Close the valve to get the water circulating to the heater.
15) Rubber cap on a T placed on the return line From the heater with a hose clamp. *LOOKED LIKE IT WAS PREGENANT AND ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH*the rubber cap*
16) and Hmmm the Flow meter for some reason stays in the same place when you turn the pump off... curious....
17) fixed leaking pipes in pump room *Still leaking*
18) Exhaust connection/Draft hood. did not fit the rest of the pipe so it was beaten and forced in and there was still a 6" long gap 1/2" wide...
19) and for some reason his voice mail was always full.. * must be a popular Pool guy *
20) and Oh yeah after the pool was opened and water was balanced.. we had Algae?
21) one main drain had a leak*semi public pool* so he plugged it with out asking what we wanted to do about it.
22) Always came to work on the pool when no one else was around and would not tell me when he was there so I could come observe his SPECFUNKINGTACULAR work.
24) had a guy come to finish the Skimmer. who didn’t know how to make sure the Skimmer was flush with deck before he started poring the concrete* I had to show him...THANK GOD I WAS THERE *
25) Replaced the Boarder tile with a who knows what , it had the texture of 60 Grit sand paper and said " oh that’s normal "
26) Used the same mystery compound in patching blemishes on Pool floor and walls... in more than 8 locations.
27) never told the property manager that the heater she had (before I arrived) was designed for 1200sq’ of surface area so people were complaining at her “why is the pool not at 80 degrees?”
and that’s just what i can remember....
PS he’s coming back to Close our pool at the end of the season and paint it again... and yes he is going to get paid to paint it again...

WHAT THE F*&^ !!!!!
My Property manager is taking it hard with a sandpaper condom and LOVING IT !
mean while i just keep documenting everything because she tells me.. "I will take care of it...It is under control....Let me handle it..."

I love my job. But WTF
what would you do?

The Condominium association Bioard members decided to go with the Low Ball bid * Damn ignorant blue hair Q tips!*
Ya get what you pay for
You reap what you sew

*sigh*

Thanks for the laugh. Sorry to hear about your problem but it certainly was an intertaining read. Good luck solving that one.
