The pool motor died yesterday, it was making some noise and came to a screeching halt last night. It is 14 years old and was rebuilt once already.
What online places do you suggest I look for a new one? is this a 56 frame? The number on the unit says SP-1610-Z1 (1.5hp)

Looks like a SuperPump 1.5HP uprated, pump model number SP2610X15.
Owners manual: http://www.haywardnet.com/products/manuals/pdfs/Manual113.pdf
I dont think its hard to find a replacement motor, just look for Hayward SuperPump 1.5. It does seem to be a 56 frame, according to this page: http://www.inyopools.com/motors_hayward_super.aspx
As far as places to purchase, Ive never purchased from inyo (I just passed the url on because they were the first result in Google).
I *have* purchased from www.poolsinc.com, www.aquapoolstore.com, and www.bestbuypoolsupply.com and www.poolplaza.com. All 4 were good, Aqua's website is a little "cheapy" so I tend to stay away from them. poolsinc.com is great if you are on the east coast, stuff usually shows up within 2 days even with free shipping. bestbuypoolsupply was good to me after they had to correct an order they sent me. Pool Plazas site is great, good service too.
Good luck!
