Alternative Kit

Hello all,

Let me start by saying this site is a wonderful resource, loaded with great information.

Some back ground info: we are completing a pool remodel. We did a re-plumb, new deck and equipment (specifics below). It is a 21k gallon gunite pool with Marcite. We also had an acid wash.

I ordered the PS234S test kit but haven't received it yet. We plan to fill the pool tomorrow after the acid wash. Can you recommend a basic kit to get us started until we get the PS234S and the chemicals needed for start-up?

Equipment:
Pentair TR60 sand filter w/Multi-port
Pentair 1HP Whisperflow pump
Pentair 250k Mini-Max NT heater
Pentair Intellichlor IC40 SWG

There is about a $15 kit at Walmart that is pretty decent for the price. Get it and test your fill water before you start to make a decision on chemicals.

I bought the Taylor K-2006 kit from Leslie's Pool Supply, $64.00. From what I have read here on the forum Ben's kit would be #1 and the Taylor K-2006 would be #2. The only down fall I can see is that the re-agents are small. You'd have to buy more re-agent a short time after you buy the Taylor kit. I'm new at this, but I've read this forum alot and the Taylor kit is what I went with.
