 OK so we first opened the pool about 2 or 3 weeks ago...

somehow @ quarts of black algae elminator managed to get dumped into the pool..
its an above ground 24' pool 4.5' feet high.... so the two bottles managed to find there way into the pool ( via people thinking they know what to do to the pool and just adding things)

after all the foaming went away from the overdose of black aglae eliminator.

im now stuck with a pool that looks rather cloudy and milky. we attempted to back wash some out and the water that ran onto the grass from the backwash hose left a chalky residue on the grass.

we have even tried floculant stuff it started to work then just stoped.......

im not sure what to do every time we go to the pool store they tell us to buy something and it never works......

can anyone help....???

I had a similar problem. My advice to you, Shock shock shock til it clears. We tried clarifier, we tried floc, neither worked. Finally shocking the crap out of it did it. I wrote a post earlier "Tales of our battles with cloudy water" if you need more info. I know how frustrating this is. Good luck!!

Get a drop-based kit (not strips) and test for Cl, pH, total alk, and CYA, along with what you're using for chlorine, post results here, and we can help you get it cleared up.
