Speaking of water fleas, I have them too with a vengeance! I read some posts and shocked the pool. they died and it's a week later and now they're back. I would keep shocking the pool but my FC and TC levels are high (FC 5and TC 5) and I am afraid that after I shock again the pool will be unsafe to swim in due to too much chlorine. Is this true?

I just get fleas (blackish grey color) in my pool after it rains a lot. Is that the case also with your pool? It doesn't really bother me as they go straight to the skimmers.

After 5 dead chipmunks and 2 dead mice in my pool this year (opened just three weeks ago), fleas are not a big deal.

Here's a pic of what I found in my skimmer after another day of rain.

Wow - looks awful. What are water fleas? We get water skaters sometimes. And we use our leaf net cover (anchored with bricks) on our pool so that mice, chippers and bunnies can get themselves out.

Wow. I will not complain about my water fleas. they live on the waterline and jump in and out of the water in a couple of spots of the pool. thousands of them. I guess I was just more concerned with the amount of chlorine in the pool if I want to keep killing them. when is too much unsafe to swim in? I have a one year old and have to make sure it's safe for him.
thanks!
