Is teflon tape all I need?

Is teflon tape all I need for the threaded connections? What I am doing is adding a heat pump and there are a couple of pipe thread connections. Just wanted to check to make sure.

The teflon tape is a must for any threaded connection. I always cover all threads with 3 or 4 layers.
