Sooo. I purchased a Haywood ecostar sp3400vsp from some fella on offerup for 20$.. I figuresd its worth the risk of 20 bucks. he said he didnt think anything was wrong with it, so why not.

This is my first variable speed pump. Figured I'd hook it up on the bench, just to see if the motor would spin. The screen works flawlessly. it says the pump is running, but the motor is not turning. No noise... nothing happens. The digital screen works flawlessly, No error messages. Any ideas?

Im thinking of direct connecting the motor just to bypass the controls, and see if the motor will start.

FYI...The motor will turn manually if I use an allen wrench to turn the shaft.
Thanks all and I appreciate any help you may have.

Sorry, but I'm afraid you got what you paid for. I don't have any advice for you, except that you shouldn't believe people who tell you that nothing's wrong with the $1,000 pump they are selling you for $20.

The forum is currently only minimally active. Your best bet, if you still need info is to use the Super Search page, to create special search links will allow you to search PoolForum. A phrase like "[]" may produce answers you're looking for.

Upgraded membership and moved thread to the Equipment section. You may need to log out and back in to see everything.

PS.You can search use Google to search multiple pool sites, using Google's 'advanced search operators" to limit your search to specific sites. This page of mine (http://pool9.net/ssearch/) will create the search links for you. Google knows my site -- and all the others -- much better than those sites internal search functions! And, if you need to post pictures -- of your pool, filter, pump, piping, what-not -- there are instructions on this page (http://pool9.net/postpix/)

Please note: the Super Search page does NOT search directly; it only CREATES special Google links, that enable a FOCUSED Google search!
