There is a new product on the market known as "chem-pouch" and I was wondering if any one on here has ever used one before. it claims that it increases the efficiency of granulars in swimming pools and im just curious if anyone has any experience with them

Without more details, I can't answer absolutely. But in general, the mechanism by which you add chemicals will have ZERO influence on "the efficiency of granulars".

On the other hand, timing matters: add chlorine in the evening, and avoid adding 2 or more chemicals at one time . . . and you should be OK.

What REALLY improves efficiency is (1) using the RIGHT, BASIC, UNBLENDED chemical and avoiding unneeded chems, (2) adding the RIGHT amount, based on accurate testing, (3) never, EVER letting chlorine get low! (A single algae episode can use up a month's worth of chemicals . . . or more!

The forum is currently only minimally active. Your best bet, if you still need info is to use the Super Search page, to create special search links will allow you to search PoolForum. A phrase like "[]" may produce answers you're looking for.

Upgraded membership and moved thread to the Chemical Problem section. You may need to log out and back in to see everything.

PS.You can search use Google to search multiple pool sites, using Google's 'advanced search operators" to limit your search to specific sites. This page of mine (http://pool9.net/ssearch/) will create the search links for you. Google knows my site -- and all the others -- much better than those sites internal search functions! And, if you need to post pictures -- of your pool, filter, pump, piping, what-not -- there are instructions on this page (http://pool9.net/postpix/)

Please note: the Super Search page does NOT search directly; it only CREATES special Google links, that enable a FOCUSED Google search!
