a past thread helped me to identify a problem i was previously having with my Mineral Springs pool system. My power and generating sanitizer buttons weren't staying lit- so i replaced the limiter. That seemed to fix my initial problem; now my display reads HOT, and my generating Sanitizer buttons flashes when on Auto, the flashing stops when i turn my switch to none instead of auto or Sanitizer boost, when i have the switch on Sanitizer boost the light no longer flashes and is illuminated green. Is there a way to override this? Or is my temperature sensor dead and i need a new salt cell. Is there a way to check to see if its my temperature sensor or another possible issue. I have called every pool company within a 50 mile radius of where i live and no one is familiar with a Mineral Springs system.

My house was a foreclosure and i cant even find out who installed the pool to see if they can help me.

I replaced the salt cell back in May of 2014 when i purchased this house. Can Salt Cells really "die" in 4.5 years?

Easy bits first.

1. Typical salt cell life is 3 years, not 4.5.

2. Bioguard Mineral Springs SWCG used to be a re-labeled AquaRite / Hayward. Don't know if that's still true. See http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthread.php/1131. Also use the SuperSearch page, linked in my NEXT post.

3. Before you spend a lot fixing up your SWCG, read the salt Pro/Con and decide if that's REALLY what you want to do: http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthread.php/29186

Upgraded membership and moved thread to the SWCG (salt) section. You may need to log out and back in to see everything.

PS.You can search use Google to search multiple pool sites, using Google's 'advanced search operators" to limit your search to specific sites. This page of mine (http://pool9.net/ssearch/) will create the search links for you. Google knows my site -- and all the others -- much better than those sites internal search functions! And, if you need to post pictures -- of your pool, filter, pump, piping, what-not -- there are instructions on this page (http://pool9.net/postpix/)

Please note: the Super Search page does NOT search directly; it only CREATES special Google links, that enable a FOCUSED Google search!
