Hi, I am new to the forum so I am always searching for good information. Last year, we moved into a house with an in-ground pool having come from a house where we installed an above-ground. This summer will be the second season using all of the new equipment I installed last year but I will be continuing to make modifications this year. I replaced the pump, all the plumbing and the filtration system shortly after we opened the pool last summer. While everything is working well, the chemistry is quite a bit more finicky than I am interested in keeping up with. More to come....

Einstein apparently said something like, "When I'm teaching, I try to make everything as simple as
possible, but no simpler." (The original was apparently in German, so versions of the quote vary.)

That's my goal for the forum: as simple as possible, but no simpler.

Expectations vary.

For most pools, as simple as possible, for pool chemistry maintenance, translates into 1 hour per week AFTER purchasing K1000 and K2006 testkits (Amazon link in my signature) learning to use them, and learning to dose the pool (10 - 20 hours it seems). Does that meet your expectations?

If not, the only SIMPLER method is to hire a pool company. Unfortunately, most of them aren't very good, so you may NOT actually save time, and it WILL cost more.
