How do I clean out my pool that looks like a nasty frog pond ?
Seriously. We haven't used it in over 2 years. (long story / health issues)
It only has about 2 feet of water in it and that looks like a snag-nasty frog pond. We even have some scarey water spiders in it. The pool pump broke so we've used a submersible pump to get most of the water out , only to have heavy rains come and fill it back up. Very frustrating.
I am desperate to empty it and try to clean the vinyl , and be able to use it. It is HUGE at 24' round. I do not want to have to buy a new vinyl pool liner as I have lost my job so have very little moohlah to spend on the pool project. I am even tempted to slash it with a knife to get it to drain and then repair it with that Flex Seal Tape !!!
If I ever DO get it empty, what do I scrub it with ? I bought a good pool brush last year so will likely use that but what chemicals ? Borax ? or something stronger , like from the pool store ?
Yes, I will obviously have to buy a new pump. Check.
Yes, I will have to check the SW system to see that it still works. Check.
Yes, I will buy new filter cartridges.
Yes, I will buy a new test kit.
Yes, lazy teenagers are grown up now and willing to help maintain a pool.
