50 yr old pool convert to salt water

I have read conflicting info, as I have metal plumbing from the pump to the pool, the entire length (50 ft) is under concrete. So it would be a major problem if the salt corrodes it. I have had a leak in the 90 degree angle close to to the pump and after the swcg. Should I go back to chlorine tabs.
