Hello,

Posting my first message here.

I have a large yard (about an acre area in the back) and I'd like to put an above ground pool next to the concrete patio. Maybe 25 to 30' oval shaped.

The problem is the ground slopes downward away from the house. Its about a 1' drop over 30'. So I was wondering if its acceptable to use paver/stacking retaining wall blocks around the entire perimeter of the pool. Then fill the center with gravel as a base, with the remaining top 2" or so with sand and rent a motorized compactor to get the rock and sand solid.

Is this a permissible approach? Is there a better way to approach this?

Thanks.
