My wife came home with a Toypedo (http://www.swimways.com/product-detail.asp?cid=1&pid=F00087FD-CAF6-49AE-90BF-3EA6939105A8&pg=1) toy. The thing is hard rubber and is supposed to be able to travel up to 40' under water when you throw it. I'm a little concerned that the thing could do damage to the vinyl liner of my pool. Anyone have thoughts on whether this is really a concern?

My pool is an AG 21' round with vinyl liner (dunno if it's a 20 or 28 mil liner).

The outside is rubber and the nose is rather dull so it should be fine. My neighbor has a vinyl pool and a couple of them as well as a cul-de-sac full of boys and no damage yet. My family, including the dog, really enjoys ours.

It'll be fine.

I've had one for years with a vinyl liner. No problems.

Thanks for the input. As a first-year pool owner, I didn't need to have to worry about how the several-year-old liner would stand up to a missile :)

Fortunately, the PoolSolutions and PoolForum websites have made taking care of the pool virtually stress-free.

The only problem I ever had with them happened yesterday! My new Dolphin cleaner got stuck on it on the bottom of the pool. Aside from that they have been in my pool for years with no problem - they are a lot of fun.

We have on and quite using it because it left some dents in the wall.
