View Full Version : Too Much Salt

I have a rather large salt pool. My equipment was malfunctioning and I didn't know it. It reported that my pool was really low on salt. So I added a lot of salt. After having my equipment repaired, I was told that I have so much salt in the pool that the chlorinator is automatically turned off and won't turn on again until the salt level is brought down.

The repairman told me that all that I had to do was drain my pool halfway, and then refill it to fix the problem. I'm not really allowed to do that during the current drought situation here in California.

So, my question is, is there anything that I can add to my pool to get the salt level down? Maybe something that will bind up the salt and get filtered out by the pool filters?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
