How do you know when to replaster your pool

My pool has become seriously pitted due to loss of CYA over the winter. It is very difficult to get the algae scrubbed out. It has a few cracks but not too serious. How long should I wait on spending the money I don't have?

That's tough to say. Have you tried elevating your chlorine to shock levels until you pass the overnight test? If you get into the pool with a hand brush, that may help too.

If you can do the above and get rid of the algae, then it is mostly a cosmetic issue.
