we moved into a house with a pool a few months ago. the saltwater inground pool was opened approx. 5 weeks ago. it worked for a week, then one night we turned the pump off as it had been running for a week straight. the next morning we tried to turn it back on and ever since that is has been dead. our pool guy told us that the pump is broken so we bought a new one, hayward 1 hp super pump. he set it up, turned it on and nothing happened. so he then said, its an electrical issue. we had two electricians comer over, both didnt find anything. the second one said it might be the capacitor. we had that checked too but it turned out the capacitor is fine. we even tried a second brandnew hayward pump just to make sure its not the other new pump that has an issue. nothing. we had 6 different people work on it and nobody is able to fix it. of course, the pool is green again now. one guy was here today and he brought the hayward pump inside the house to see what happens if he hooks it up. he used one of our outlet power strips to test the pump. when he did it popped a fuse and the power strip is now bad. the pump is set to 110, all of the power in the house is 110. we cannot figure out what the problem is.
