Hello everyone! I have read several posts on this site for years and finally deciced to join. I'm having issues with my pool. I have a purple color showing up on my plastic pool equipment. From my research I think this is from high CYA. I took my water to a pool place to have it tested, as I do not have anything to test my CYA. Here are the results.

Free Chlorine - 10ppm
Total chlorine - 10ppm
Calcium Hardness - 550ppm
CYA - 180ppm
total alkalinity - 190ppm
pH - 7.0
Total dissolved solids - 2200
Phosphates - 500

They told me I needed to drain my pool and refill it. I have a cartridge filter system, pentair variable speed pump. The pool is in-ground plaster. I'm using an inline chlorinater with 3" trichlor tablets and granulated dichlor to keep the chlorine level where it should be. Does anyone know what is causing the purple staining on the plastic pool parts? Should I drain my pool and start over? The calcium doesn't seem that high to me, but I know high calcium can damage my filter and damage pool parts. Thank you for your help.
