This is my first post in this forum. I'm not sure how this all works but I can tell you my pool specs.
IG 16'x32' plus stairs new Vinyl Liner
~ 14,500 gallons (not a deep pool) - well water
Hayward Pro-Series High Rate Sand Filter Model #S244T
Hayward Super Pump, self priming 1.5hp
Taylor K2006 Complete Test Kit
Long story- I'll keep it short. We opened the pool early this year, say May 1st. (for Rhode Island, that's early) Using the BBB method for the 1st time- was coming along fairly well. Had the pool clear of algae but was cloudy. Then some rain, the pollen and unexpected huge gypsy moth caterpillars as well as toad mating season (5+ acres of woods here).
So- yesterday we added some muriatic acid to our green pool, this morning PH 7.7/ 7.8. Good enough since I figured we'll be cleaning and adding more water.
Very low FC + CC so I added 2 gallons of super shock around 10:30am and will test again early afternoon. Weather is 80's and sunny. I also brushed the pool- did not vacuum anything yet. Pool is in full sun until mid, late afternoon.
This BBB is all new to us as is the test kit so we're watching videos and reading on this site. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
TIA
