So we just installed a new radiant pool-27'- with a Hayward sand filter and auto-chlorinator. This pool is (for now) in our weekend home. The pool was installed on a wed, we got up there on a Sunday and there was no chlorine in the pool. When we opened the chlorinator, there was an air gap in the chlorinator and the chlorine level was zero. My question is, do I need to run the filter 24/7? I'm not sure if putting the filter on a timer (10 hr run time) caused the chlorinator to run dry when it restarted, or if the installer didn't check it before he left. I hope I'm not crazy to think we can keep a pool clean with only being here on the weekends. Do you recommend running the filter 24/7 in this case? With being a new pool owner I appreciate being able to ask questions here. Thanks
