I am adding (the equivalent of) an oversized tanning shelf to my 12.5k gallon fiberglass pool. This addition goes all the way around the existing pool, and raises the elevation of the deck and surrounding landscape appx. 2 feet.
This is a DIY project (except the gunite shoot, of course).
My concern is with the roughness of the broom finished gunite. Some of the higher ridges are near .5 inch high in places.
The bonding agent and diamond brite are going to barely cover some of these ridges (am I right?).
Is this acceptable, or must it be ground down in places to allow a more uniform level of thickness in the plaster?
New member, first post; thanks for the help.
