View Full Version : New slab lifting from coping

The old slab was cracked and unsightly. It was separated from the coping and offset in many places.

We just had the concrete removed and replaced. It's been a week and we've been watering the slab. Now we've noticed that the slab is rising above the height of the coping. It's about 1/2" higher than the coping in about half of the pool. The change in elevation has also caused the separation of the urethane caulking that was installed between the coping and the new slabs.

Is water getting behind the scum tile and causing the soil, beneath the new slabs, to expand.

Thanks in advance!
