View Full Version : Sealing a Leaking Pool Light Conduit

For those of you that have had and fixed a leaking pool light conduit, which method did you use? As far as I have been able to find, there are 3 different methods that may be used:

1. Putty around the cord as it enters the conduit.
2. 100% pure silicone (squirt into the light conduit and around the end of the conduit to seal up the exit for the water)
3. Either a 3/4" or 1" light cord stopper

I think I favor option 3 for simplicity purposes.

Anyone have any advice on what you did and how it turned out?

Looks like I'll be going with option #1, putty around the cord as it enters the conduit. I took off the light and shot a video with my go pro to better see in the niche. It looked like the previous owner had previously puttied it. Rather than scrape off the old putty, I'll just putty around and on it. Then, redo the dye test to make sure I sealed it.
