ready to start construction

We have the pad level and the pool is on the way. We are installing a 38 x 16 Barcelona model, fiberglass Viking pool. There will be a 400,000 btu propane heater and a sand filter. Even though it will be November, my wife is insisting that we use the pool a few times.
Any advice for a noob?
