Hi all! Looking forward to painless pool ownership (fingers crossed)!
We have a 16 x 48 Intex pool with standard pump & salt water generator. Just filled with well water using a sock over the hose to filter unwanted minerals out.
Started the saltwater generator and ran it all night. Using the test strips (until test kit arrives) the levels are
Free chlorine 1.0ppm
pH 0.2
Total Alkalinity 40
Calcium Hardness between 0-100
The pool is slightly emerald color this am and it's from iron in the well water.
Do I treat with Scale, metal, and stain remover before raising the pH level? We are running the filter & rinsing it out to help filter out the iron.
