pool leak?

Hi folks,

First time posting... just bought a property that came with a pool. We have no prior experience with pools. I have noticed that water levels drop after a few days. It has not been hot here and we have received near-record rain in June. When we've had a few short stretches without rain (5 days max) and temps barely exceeding 80F, we notice a 2 inch drop (even more). A friend suggests this is normal. I would like to confirm this. Is a 2 inch drop after less than a week normal?
