I had a new 27' by 54" above ground pool installed. The job was OK except for one problem. When the liner was initially placed in the pool the installer did not like the way it set. He had a shop vac sealed to the skimmer hole so that he could pull a vacuum and keep the liner up against the pool wall without wrinkles while filling. He did not like the way the liner laid in initially so he reversed the air on the shop vac which inflated the liner out of the pool. When the liner settled it was to his liking and he filled the pool. Unfortunately the hose was aimed at a foot plate to one of the columns and it blew the sand off of that plate. Now the liner sits on this plate and the points of the plate are poking into the liner. I would imagine this will cause the liner to fail prematurely if not in short order. What do you recommend be done? Can the pool be emptied and the sand added? Can we put a durable patch over the problem spot? Does the liner need to be replaced? Thanks for the help.
