I have a 20,000 gal. vinyl chlorine pool. I have shocked in the evenings with bagged chlorine (as much as 4 bags) and other evenings with bleach (2 gal.) but the next morning I get no indication of free chlorine. I've tested with both strips and 6-way test kit. The drop test kit will indicate some chlorine presence after sitting a few minutes. The water is clear with no odor. Hardness, pH, TA and stabilizer are within limits.
