Hello swimmers,

I am a new member to the forum, and have enjoyed learning from you.

Our family is now enjoying an in ground salt water swimming pool 24'x40' with a 8'x8' spa and waterfall.

We are attempting to learn how to control the chemical use while keeping our pool water healthy and well maintained. The pool surface is a shotcrete surface that has blue speckles that illuminate in the sun light.

We live in Central Florida (Daytona Beach), and the sun is ferocious, and it is consuming all the chlorine. The pool has a Salt Cell Chlorinator, but even in "Super Chlorine" mode, it is impossible to maintain healthy levels of chlorine during the heat of the day.

I no longer trust my pool service center, they are only interested in selling all sorts of chemicals which are effecting the stability of clear healthy water.

I think I have learned from this forum, that I don't need dozens of chemical sold by the pool service center, if I can maintain PH, Alkalinity and Chlorine. The question is "How Do I Do That"?

Waiting to here from you smart pool people.
