Hello,
I've had a small 12' by 30" Intex EZ set pool for the last two summers, and our family as really enjoyed it. Moving up to a 16x48 or 18x48 Intex Ultra Pool this summer. I really like the idea of purchasing a SWCG for the new pool. I'm also in Western Washington--about an hour's drive north of Seattle. Not an area known for consistent hot weather. So I'm trying to zero in on a heating method that will make the pool more 'friendly' and warm.
I was almost decided on a natural gas heater but then discovered that most units are not designed to handle the salinity in a pool that is using SWCG for chlorine generation. So, now I'm trying to figure out if I can find a (reasonably priced) gas heater that is built with a heat exchanger that can handle the salt water, or if I really am only left with a solar type heater if using SWCG?
If I go with the BBB method, it appears that the gas heater option is not a problem (looking at some Hayword models on Amazon), but at this point my preference is the SWCG.
Do I have to choose one or the other? It seems like perhaps I do... Advice/solutions/recommendations would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Jason
