How is this not in every pool in America with a price tag of ONLY $59.95!!! No electricity needed, no replacement parts...

**Plz no red, I realize this is going to do as much as clipping a potato chip bag clip onto my PVC pipes.**

A simple and effective patented magnetic water conditioner is now available for your pool. Laboratory tests prove that by simply strapping the Magnetizer on the return line to your pool, the Magnetizer reduces sanitizing chemical usage by 30% to 50% while stabilizing pH and eliminating all pH chemicals, thereby saving you money. The Magnetizer helps to eliminate algae, keep water clean and improve the clarity of your pool.

How does it work?
As water molecules pass through the powerful and highly focused magnetic field, the Magnetizer Pool System does two things: Polarizes (organizes) molecules and gives water a net positive (+) charge. This physically restructures the water making it provide all the great benefits described below.

How it Works
As water molecules pass through the powerful and highly focused magnetic field, the Magnetizer Pool System does two things: Polarizes (organizes) molecules and gives water a net positive (+) charge. This physically restructures the water making it provide all the great benefits described below.

Magnetizer Conditioning

Magnetized water produces the benefits of soft water. It also magnetically locks the chemicals into the water resulting in:

Reduced chemical eye and skin irritation
Reduced obnoxious chemical odours
Luxurious silky feeling
Reduced Chemical Costs
Bromine, chlorine and other chemicals used in your pool maintenance mix more completely and effectively in magnetized water. The reduced surface tension and the increased ionic activity of the magnetized water helps to reduce operating costs as well as reducing chemical needs.
Stabilized pH

pH is the balance between charges in the water. Wide variations in pH will damage equipment while frequently reducing the effectiveness of the chemicals. By magnetically organizing the water molecules, the wide range of the pH swing is reduced, as is the need for chemical usage.

Improved Filter Performance

The positive water charge pulls skin oils and tanning lotions into the water allowing them to be removed by the filter. The result is a pool that is almost self-cleaning.

Remove Scale

The Magnetizer Pool System puts a positive charge into the water. This not only stops scale build-up, but dissolves pre-existing scale deposits. This scale removal protects equipment and allows heaters to operate at peak efficiency, thereby reducing energy dollars.

Yeah, but I'll bet it causes alzheimers or cancer!

You know, I have a friend who has something similar to this installed on his house water. He swears by it and I've done enough research to thoroughly confuse myself. On the surface, if you believe the claims, it looks like a pretty good deal. Then the question previously asked, "Why aren't these installed on every pool?" That little voice in my skeptical mind keeps saying, "no way."

hmmmm, I read on a website that fiberglass has a negative charge, and may be one reason that it stains. I would love to know if this works. Anyone else with any ideas on this?

I keep an aquarium and participate on aquarium forums. The water magnetizer comes up for discussion on a regular basis. Each forum has its 'science guys' and the consensus is always that it's a scam.

The other one is the Plotcher system where little sticks 'remembers' good water and then 'tells' the bad water how to behave...

Now that sounds like something I could get behind!

Ha, ha, good water, bad water! I was just hoping that it was something that wasn't just snake oil. Never hurts to ask!

Install the Magnetizer on your carburator and you'll get better gas mileage as well ;)

Here's a link to a guy that debunks one made for aquariums, the claims for the one made for pools sound very similar.

The Mythbusters recently tested all the 'gas mileage' gimmicks and found that NONE of them provided any benefit. I guess that saying about 'being too good to be true' should be added to my title :-D

I know all about that system....it's the one my wife uses on me daily!

Dave,

LOL - I resemble that remark ;) (or at least my husband thinks I do)

TW Been keeping aquarims for close to 45 years now (salt for past 30) and everything I have ever seen about magnets seems to scream SCAM! They have never stood up under serious testing....and aquarists are very much into testing things when they are really into the hobby!

I seem to remeber reading something about magnets on the old forum. I think it was posted by Ben (PoolDoc). It was not positive.

Of course magnets work! It's an astrological fact!

They "replenish" balding heads, help you lose weight, make your kids to better at school, and make your spouse more responsive to you.

You can expect the vinyl or concrete walls to last better, your grass to be greener, and more sunny days all summer.

Actually, you can expect your bank account to be thinner and that's about it. These guys work on the "Bigger Sucker Theorem"--there's always a bigger sucker around the next corner!

HEY! Don't go lumping pseudo science like magnets with respeced disciplines like astrology! May tarot cards told me you would try something like this!

The sponser of this forum actually has a link to Aqua Doc, a manufacturer of the wonder magnet?

And he also has links to several companies that manufacture ionizers and ozone genterator. If you read the forum you will find that Ben (PoolDoc) doens't think much of these things for most pools but he is a fair man and provides the info for anyone who might be interested.
