I am a first time pool owner (16' x32 AG). Because of the hassle removing and covering the pool with the solar cover I was thinking about cutting the bubble wrap solar cover in half to make it more manageable. Any opinions on doing this? Also if we do cut it any opinions on whether to cut it down the length middle (32') or the width middle(16') ?
Thanks

Cut the solar cover!?!?!? You might destroy the amazing heating power :-D I would think it would be fine to cut either way but try to get some straps or velcro to keep the middle section together.

All the "solar" cover really does (at least the normal blue inexpensive ones) is retain heat in the pool by retarding evaporation. Evaporation can cause HUGE heat loss from the pool, and yes, it does happen when the air is cold. Wind and dry air will suck heat from the pool big time.
So, I would concur that cutting the cover shouldn't be a killer, as long as that doesn't wind up allowing the wind to shift the cover and expose too much pool surface.
