Hello, I am in desperate need of help I would like to close my pool on a good note but the entire liner feels like stiff sand paper its not just hit and miss. Our pool was pretty aweful this yr i had to the pump and parts on the sand filter just to name a few of the wrenches thrown into my summer. i do not have the chemical scores i guess i could call them but the pool guy down the street will run my water for free so i will hopefully have it by tomorrow or the next day if anyone could even give me a clue as to what im dealing with id appreciate it the liner was just put in and id hate for it to get worse over the winter.
Thanks for any idea until i can update

Hi Cayse:
Sorry you are having troubles. Can you re-read your post and edit it a little? It looks like you were typing fairly late at night and your mind was getting ahead of your fingers.
Meanwhile, while you are getting the water tested, what can you tell us about your pool?
Is it above ground or in ground?
What shape is it?
What are the basic dimensions--length, width, depth (of the water)?
What is it made of? (we know you have a vinyl liner)?
What kind of filter do you have--Sand, DE, or Cartridge? Who makes it and what size or model is it?
What brand and size pump do you have?
When you say your water was awful, do you mean it was full of algae or something else?
What do you use for chlorine: tablets (Tri-chlor), powder (Di-chlor or Cal-Hypo), sticks (usually tri-chlor and junk you don't need), or bleach/liquid chlorine?
Have you used algaecides? Which ones?
Other chemicals you've added?
Did your water level get low?
Have you contacted the company that sold you the liner?
I'm just shooting out basic questions to get an idea of what may be going on.
