We had a lot of leaves and debris. I spent a couple of hours this afternoon with vacuuming them up. However, now when I start the pump, no water flows. When I take the cover off the filter basket, usually there is a sucking sound and I can prime the pump. Now there is no sucking sound and if I prime the pump, the basket overflows.

somethings clogged? ideas?

Did you check the hose from the skimmer to the pump? Sounds like thats clogged up.

I agree...sounds like a plug in the skimmer line. Did you have a skimmer basket in place while you were vacuuming leaves? That's the first line of defense for catching stuff, pump basket next, then the filter. You could have sucked up something like a twig that got stuck in a bend in the pipe then leaves got piled up. Try a garden hose into the skimmer line thru the inlet to the pump basket housing. Will have to pack rags around the hose or something to get a little pressure backwards thru the skimmer line.

thanks! is there danger of a pipe bursting? I see elsewhere in the forums there is something called a drain king...should I try that?
