How to remove de before cartridge filter install

Hello all new to the site but my de filter broke on me not filtering at all so I'm replacing it with a star clear plus 175 cartridge filter with 2 hp pump.
My question is sence there is de in my pool how do I remove it before turning my cartridge filter. Or do I just let the filter suck it up and clean the filter and do this till the de is all gone.
So any help would be great

I'd say vacuum it up into the new filter - keep careful watch on the filter pressure and clean the filter when it rises.
