I don't have a specific question at the moment. I'm just interested in learning more about the BBB method for a couple reasons. One, I'm having a kid soon and wonder if this type of method will be safer than using all types of chemicals that I have no idea what they are. Two, I'm wondering if it will be cheaper for me. Three, I want to see what other folks are saying about it's effectiveness.
I'm not sure about my equipment but will guess:
15K Pool in ground
DE Filter (actually 4 of them in one container)
2 pumps, 1 for a water feature
Solar heater.

... if this type of method will be safer than using all types of chemicals that I have no idea what they are. Yes, you would have no idea how safe something is if you don't know what it is.
Two, I'm wondering if it will be cheaper for me. Far cheaper than buying everything the pool store recommends.
Three, I want to see what other folks are saying about it's effectiveness. Yes, and effective long-term. "Standard" pool care methods eventually lead to uncontrollable pools and tend to sell more pool chemicals - good for pool stores, bad for you and your pool.
Read all you can at our sister site: PoolSolutions.com paying special attention to the Best Guess Chart - it explains the basis for the pool care method we teach here.
Also log out and read all you can here - especially the stickied threads in the chlorinating and testing forums.
The most important thing you'll need to keep your pool clean and safe is a Taylor K-2006(or K-2006C) test kit. Accept no substitutes - not available in stores. Find a link on the test kit page in the testing forum.
Welcome!
You've found the right place to help.
