I am new to pool ownership and to this forum. I have an odd shaped salt water pool that I believe (using online volume calculators) is about 8,500 gallons. I have a 1HP Pentair WhisperFlo WF -24 pump that says it pumps 125 GPM. My question is, how long do I need to run the pump for? Doing the calculations, I should be able to run it for just two hours (three, if it's running at half capacity) and completely turnover the pool. But, everything I read says to run the pump for at least 6hrs/day. Please help! I need to lower my electricity bill. Thanks!
