Can you use water softener salt in an above ground pool ? And if so how much salt to 44,000 gal. Of water?

Not sure what you have in mind. If you want salt for a salt system (SWCG), you can NOT use softner salt unless you have verified that it has NOTHING but salt in it -- no additives.

Not sure why you're asking about 44,000 gallons, either. The very biggest AG pools have less than 30,000 gallons.

It is 4440 gallons I put that in wrong. And it is pure salt 99%, it's the salt they use in professional grade water softeners

OK, 4,400 gallons I can believe.

Softener salt often has other chemicals added in small quantities. Some wouldn't hurt. But you have to check the label to see what that other 1% is . . . see if the label indicated that the salt does anything that regular salt would not.
