View Full Version : lost it and water has started to go green

Last week we had several pool parties and was fine , until. I did not test one night. for a week I have been fighting the green. Almost had it then it rained. I am at shock level right now with
cl at 15
ph is 7.2
and cya is about 55
I have left the sand filter run this entire time but more rain is more than likely this week got any tips

Yes. Even when it rains, you gotta take care of the pool! Rain does not cause algae. It is caused by not checking the pool when it is raining.

Keep it at shock level consistently until you can go from sundown one evening to within an hour or so of sunrise without losing more than 1ppm of chlorine AND you have no greater than 0.5ppm of CC AND your water is clear. Brush the pool while the chlorine is high and continue to run the pump 24/7 while you are working to clear it and backwash as needed. I assume you have a K2006? Please add that to your signature. Pool is now clear, not sparkling yet, but soon. 3 vacuums yesterday and one today one more tomorrow and it should be MUCH better!
