new to owning a pool but im mechanicly inclined and i have a problem with my filter. I recently was given a 17ft intex type pool by one person and a hayward sand filter by another a couple hose connectors were missing so i replaced those as well as put new sand in i was told the filter worked when they used it last. problem is i have almost no pressure when running the filter. the valve is a sp711 and seems to select the right setting its placed on. i tore apart the valve and the pump. everything seems to be working fine. i seem to have a lot of air in the filter basket and water flow seems restricted. im running out of ideas. i have made sure the hoses are clear,impeller is clean,new sand am i missing something I must be.
