Hello everyone,

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone here. Owning a pool has been a journey to say the least.
I have a summer escapes above ground pool. 18 feet by 42 inches deep. Our pump went out last week and our replacement arrived today. It is a swim time 1HP pump model #NE6151B. It has a 3 prong plug in cord. I thought all I had to do was plug it in and go, but once I read the instructions I learned about bonding and grounding??? I'm not sure what is necessary with this pool and I'm kinda lost. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to hire a licensed electrician to do this for you. The fact that you are asking these questions is a pretty good indication that you should not do this job yourself. Electricity kills people. You know that. Let a professional who knows what they are doing handle this job. The consequences are just too great to take a chance.

I will tell you that a 1hp pump is too big for your pool. I hope you can take it back and get something that will work better for your pool. I'll let one of our pump experts advise you on a better choice.

Thanks for the reply. I think that is going to be my best option. I guess when I ordered the pump I was under the impression I
could just install the new pump and go. Learning all the time. Thanks again.
