Sand in my backwash after filter sand change out...

I just changed out my filter stand as it was about 8 years old. I was very careful to not break the laterals and now i am getting sand in my backwash but, very little in the pool?

New here so, thank you....

What volume is your pool?

What size is your pump (hp)?

What size is your sand filter (how many lbs. of sand does it hold)?

Why did you change your sand and what kind of sand did you buy?

12,000 gallon pool with a tr-60 pentair filter. We replaced the sand because it was 10years old and was not filtering properly. We put in the recommended 325lbs. With a 1 hp pump.

I am not sure what the problem is. There are others who are better at solving pump/filter problems than I am and hopefully one of them will be along soon. Sorry for the slow replies. We have been swamped with new members lately! It takes time to wade through them all. ;)
