Does anyone here have any experience with the Pentair Quad DE filters? It's basically a DE filter in a cartridge layout to increase the surface area (and they claim you can choose to clean it like a cartridge or backwash). The big selling point for me is the huge surface area which would cut down on the frequency of my cleanings (for a 30,000 gal pool I know it's way overkill but if it buys me more time between cleanings I'm all for it).

Sta-Rite introduced their modular DE filters a few years ago. They use a single cartridge-style DE module. I have installed several of the Sta-Rite filters and everyone loves them. Pentair bought Sta-Rite and adapted this type of filtration to their existing tanks. A good idea that works well in a larger version. When used with a cellulose DE alternative (Purifiber, CF-138) you should have sparkling water with very little filter maintenance.
