Hi there I have a 18' AG pool, 1/2 horsepower pump, ta40 sandfilter, 1 skimmer, 1 center drain, hard plumbed 1 1/2". Here are my results :

FC 5
CC 0
TC 5
pH 8.0
Alk 200
Cal 200
Cya 20
Temp 84

I'm getting concerned about ph climbing and the Alk and Cal abit high. What are the steps I need to take to adjust my water. Thanks for the help. DC.

Hi, DC,

If you'll bring your pH down into the 7.2 - 7.6 range, you'll be in pretty good shape. Download the bleachcalc if you haven't already, and use the section on pH to lower it with muriatic acid. Alk will come down some when the pH lowers. It would be a good idea to lower the pH sooner rather than later.

Calcium is fine.....you really don't need it, anyway.

If you consume quite a bit of Chlorine, you might consider taking your CYA up to 30-40. I'd leave it alone if your happy with your Cl usage, tho.

Very thorough post with all your pool parameters and test results...Thanks! Happy swimming! :)
